Note:Persons registred for our trainings have the extra benefit of our Pre-training courses and Consultation vidoes included in the total cost. The required 10 hours of consultation is included in the cost of the training. Consultation is provided by Dr. Hurley and his staff who have years of military/VA experience with EMDR therapy.

EMDR Basic Training (Standard training as taught world-wide)
*These are EMDR Institute regional trainings. Part 2 has additional topics including treating complex PTSD, treating sexual trauma and treating moral injury.
As an EMDR Institute Regional Trainer Dr. Hurley provides his own pre-training videos and PowerPoint presentations on "Introduction to EMDR Therapy," "Case Conceptualization and Treatment Planning" These are additional resources provided to insure participants have an enriching training in the development of their EMDR therapy clinical skills.
+10 hours of required consultation is included in the cost of this training.
Stardand training fee includes 6-days of training, manuals for parts 1 and 2, 10 hours of EMDR consultation by phone, and 40 CE hours. Two additional digital training components by Dr. Hurley on treating MST and moral injury with EMDR therapy are provided to participants.
Military or DVA therapists with questions regarding contracting their group EMDR basic training please contact Dr. Hurley for training cost.
*Note: These two-day workshops require the completion of EMDR therapy basic training (levels 1& 2).
CE units from NBCC and EMDRIA will be requested for each workshop.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ATTENDING
A clinical background is necessary for the effective application of EMDR therapy. Attendance at the EMDR training is limited to mental health professionals who have a masters or doctorate in a mental health field and are licensed or certified through a state or national board which authorizes independent practice
INTERN/GRADUATE STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
Completion of graduate level coursework at an accredited school and is on a licensing track under state sanctioned supervision by a licensed clinician. Plesae submit a current supervisor's letter (on their stationary) with his/her degree and license number.
Dr. E. C. Hurley, DMin, PhD, LMFT, BCETS, is the trainer for these EMDR trainings. Dr. Hurley is the founder/executive director of Soldier Center and the Marriage and Family Institute in Clarksville, TN. He has served as the senior EMDR trainer for the Army-wide medical command (AMEDD) training of mental health professionals. Dr. Hurley is an EMDR Institute Regional Trainer as well as a specialty trainer assisting persons working with complex trauma including veterans with complex combat trauma. He is an EMDRIA Approved Provider and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. He is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army and a licensed psychotherapist for over 30 years.
EMDR Therapy Basic Training = 7 days + Webinars
EMDR Institute Regional Training – Tennessee is a seven (7) day training with three weekends spread over three months. The extra day of training allows for opportunity to cover additional advanced topics including dissociative exhibitions, Complex PTSD, treating sexual assault, substance abuse and treating veterans with complex issues including moral injury.
The training format is presented in the following manner:
After registration (before on-site training) participate in Dr. Hurley’s one-hour webinar which presents a video of his work utilizing EMDR therapy accompanied with commentary.
Registered participants receive and read materials on the theoretical basis of EMDR therapy.
Weekend 1 basic training (Friday – Sunday)
After part 1 training participants will participate in 5 hours of Approved Consultation (included in the training costs).
Between parts 1 and 2 participants will participate in webinar on the 8 phases of the standard EMDR therapy protocol in treatment, i.e., the do’s and don’ts of basic EMDR therapy.
Attend first weekend of Part 2.
Follow this weekend with additional weekly consultation and participate in a webinar.
Attend the second weekend of Part 2 with additional topics covered.
Completed the required Approved Consultation insuring a total of 10 hour consultation have been completed.
After having completed EMDR therapy basic training participants will be invited to participate in a follow-up webinar reviewing the application of the EMDR therapy approach in their work (optional but available).
As you may note, the above format contains several hours of training beyond the basic EMDR training. This is provided at the same basic price in order for our training praticipants to have the best possible training opportunity for the enhancement of their EMDR therapy clinical skills.
